Secure company messenger on Matrix: iOS, Android and web from one codebase
An independent, encrypted chat for small and medium companies: Matrix server, calls on LiveKit, push gateway and one SvelteKit codebase for three platforms.
Project goal
Client: Tuc-Tuc (home.tuc-tuc.asia), Kazakhstan. 2026.
The client wanted an independent, secure chat for small and medium companies.
Solution
We built the MVP:
- A Matrix server (a continuwuity fork) with TLS, TURN and LiveKit for audio and video calls.
- End-to-end encryption with Olm and Megolm.
- Companies as Matrix Spaces with four access levels.
- A push gateway on Node.js for APNs, FCM and Web Push.
- One SvelteKit and Capacitor codebase for iOS, Android and the web, in four languages.
- Self-hosted on Docker at Hetzner, admin access only through Tailscale, CI/CD on GitHub Actions and runbooks for administrators.
Results
- Live in the App Store and on Google Play.
- One codebase builds the iOS, Android and web apps.
Why it matters for you: If you need messaging on servers you host, we can build it on an open protocol instead of a closed one.
